Meet our Board of Directors
Jenna Carter
CEO
Jenna is a founding partner of Kinis4Cancer. She’s the chairwoman of the organization’s board of directors, combining her love of swimwear with her vision to see out a cancer free future.
Jenna is a dean’s list honors student, currently working towards her Associate of Arts degree at Saddleback Community College. After receiving her degree, Jenna hopes to continue her studies at a 4-year university with a major in Political Science. She is a member of multiple Honor’s societies, including the National Society of Leadership and Success and Phi Theta Kappa. Jenna hopes to one day utilize her experience with Kinis4Cancer to start her own film production company. She hopes to use her platform to promote healthy lifestyles for young people.
Kennedy Barnes
CFO
Kennedy is a founding partner of Kinis4Cancer. She acts as the organizations Vice President on the board of directors, combining her experience in fashion with her desire to help women feel confident and beautiful.
Kennedy is a Dean’s List student at Santa Barbara Community College. She hopes to further her education at a 4-year institution studying fashion and communications. Kennedy has 8 years of experience designing and sewing her own clothes and accessories. She hopes to one day be a professional fashion designer and continue to inspire confidence in young women through her designs.
Andy Dixon
Secretary
Andrew is a founding partner of Arete Advisors. He is a member of the firm’s tax practice, focusing his efforts on transactional tax planning, tax consulting for entrepreneurs and middle-market companies, and tax examination representation. Andrew has in excess of 20 years in public and private accounting. Prior to forming Arete Advisors, Andrew was a partner at dbbMckennon, and began his public accounting career in the Orange County office of Deloitte where he focused on large corporate multinational companies.
Andrew is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in California. He graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of California Los Angeles and obtained his Masters in Business Taxation in 2001 from the University of Southern California.
Brendan Cruz
Assistant Treasurer
Brendan is a full-time student at the University of Utah, David Eccles School of Business, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Finance. He aims for a career at the intersection of Healthcare and Finance. He hopes to shape a more holistic, collaborative, and integrative healthcare system.
Brendan volunteers his time at the Thousand Smiles Foundation in Ensenada, Mexico, overseeing outreach, registrations, and floor operations. He founded Thousand Smiles of Mexico – San Juan Capistrano to support Thousand Smiles Foundation’s efforts to provide free healthcare to children in need. Additionally, Brendan is a member of the Beta Epsilon Chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Their chapter has raised over $1 million for cancer research, making it the highest fundraising Greek chapter in history.
